About Shiatsu

Shiatsu and Devon School of Yoga Bodywork are both a clothes-on form of massage using acupressure, stretching, manipulation, postural alignment and palm healing to relax and stimulate the body’s energy channels (nadis / meridians). This improves circulation, flexibility and posture, promoting one’s own innate self-healing abilities to prevent disease and restore vitality. The treatment relaxes and rejuvenates the body / mind and is particularly helpful to Yoga students — improving suppleness, releasing deep tensions and inducing a meditative level of consciousness.

A note on wellbeing: Shiatsu is offered as a complementary practice for relaxation, emotional support and general wellbeing, and may help some people feel calmer and more settled. It is not a replacement for medical care, diagnosis or treatment. If you have any health concerns, please speak with a qualified healthcare professional.
