Martha Chester
I’ve been practicing yoga for over 25 years, and it’s transformed both my body and mind. After exploring various styles, I discovered Kundalini yoga in 2007 and immediately felt its powerful impact on my awareness and inner peace.
My journey has taken me around the world, including extended time in India working at the Miri Piri Academy in Amritsar. I completed my Level I and II Teacher Training with the Amrit Nam Sarovar School and became a Level 1 Lead Trainer with the Aquarian Teacher Academy after teaching for 20 years.
In 2012, started a teacher training programme in Devon that has qualified over 100 Kundalini yoga teachers and more recently expanded this to offer Level 2 modules, all accredited by the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI).
Beyond the training programmes, I teach classes and lead retreats both locally and internationally. I’ have trained in breath work and Somatic Journeys over the past 3 years and I offer one-to-one trauma informed body work sessions for deeper emotional release and healing. This has been a challenging path as I’ve visited my own deep wounds, but working somatically with clients one-to-one has moved me to my very core because of what the body holds for us—the stories, the trauma, the unspoken truths waiting to be witnessed and released.
Japa meditation will always hold a special place in my heart— and I regularly host 40-hour immersive chanting experiences that amaze me all the way to the core of my soul.
As a lifelong student of yoga, I’m committed to continuous learning and growth so I can better serve our community. I’d love to welcome you to a class, training, or retreat soon.
