Pregnancy yoga

Each mother deserves to be nurtured and cherished during her pregnancy. Pregnancy Yoga classes provide a warm and supportive environment to guide you safely through every stage of pregnancy, preparing you for labour and birth.

The classes aim to equip you with the knowledge necessary to address common pregnancy ailments and potential physical, mental or emotional obstacles, giving you the confidence and strength to bring new life into the world.

Yoga during pregnancy can help to overcome minor ailments such as backache, tired legs, indigestion / heart burn, oedema (swelling), sciatica, insomnia and varicose veins.

All classes are suitable for complete beginners and more advanced yoga practitioners from 14 weeks onwards.

Please wear loose and comfortable clothing, bring a blanket if possible (mats are provided) and try not to eat anything heavy at least 2 hours before class. Snacks are provided after the class.

Prenatal yoga in Exeter

What to expect in a pregnancy yoga class:

Pregnancy yoga relieves tension, keeping aches and pains at bay through gentle postures and exercises designed to strengthen and tone the body. Using simple breathing techniques, the mind and body are relaxed. This is useful both now and also during labour. The body and mind are prepared through deep relaxation techniques and visualisations so that your baby has the best possible start in life. Pregnancy classes give you time and space to connect with your unborn child and to also share your experiences with other women as you journey through this extraordinary time in your life.
