Janet Hockley

Jan first started practising Yoga in the late 1980s as a way of helping with back and shoulder pain as well as dealing with stress.  Yoga soon became an important part of her life and she trained with the Devon School of Yoga, graduating in 2002 and has since been teaching classes in the South and East Devon areas.  Jan has studied with teachers in Scaravelli, Yin and Astanga Vinyasa Yoga and this feeds into her own practice and teaching.

In 2014, Jan undertook training with the Yoga for Healthy Lower backs Institute in order to offer classes for people suffering from back pain.

She is a registered Yoga for Backs teacher (www.yogaforbacks.co.uk) and qualified to teach the 12 week programme for students with back pain.  Yoga for Backs is a research backed, proven programme specifically for low back pain.  To find out more about when the next course is running, please contact Jan directly.

Jan also runs regular, holistic weekly classes suitable for most levels of ability in Exminster, Kenton and Teignmouth.  She also teaches corporate Yoga and , in the past, has offered classes for groups of full time carers.
